SOUNDCHECK featuring NIA NICHOLLS
Live at The Old Fire Station
Sat 16th June 2018
Nia Nicolls is an 18 year old UK singer/songwriter. Nia has been writing songs since the age of 7 and started playing the guitar and performing publicly at 10. Whilst still only 13 years old, Nia went to Nashville and has been back almost every year since. Last year, Nia recorded her song “I Chose You” at Beaird Music in Nashville. The song’s lyrics have been quoted by artists such as Larry Raspberry from the 60’s band, The Gentry’s, who said he wished he had written the line “Why would you want vintage when you could have new?”. The song has since peaked at Number 4 on WBCW Top 20 Charts and was made Track of the Week on Wandsworth Radio, London.
Nia’s music is heavily influenced by Country artists such as Shania Twain, Taylor Swift and Kacey Musgraves and she has received support from Matt Jessup (Gary Numan band) and the legendary Dean Friedman.
